Our day would not have been the same without any of our vendors but Bec from Azure Creative Photography would be the highlight! She helped plan our timeline of the day, ensured every photo with guests was captured, was available to talk to at any time during the lead up to the day and was such a girl boss on the day! Bec is the kindest soul and her warm and caring presence on the day was just what we needed and wanted.
The Lucky Hotel was the perfect location for our non fuss, calm and relaxed party vibe of a wedding! We fell in love with the high ceilings, garden feature wall and quirky lighting touches as soon as we saw it. When you get to serve mini sliders, popcorn chicken and cob loaf garlic bread to your guests, how can you say no?!
Getting to marry each other and officially become ‘The Christy’s’ after postponing our wedding three times (thanks Rona). It is a magical feeling walking into your reception and seeing your most treasured family and friends there to celebrate you.
Kyle on the decks who slowly built us up with the good vibes, and the staff who poured us countless shots and cocktailsOur MC (Ben’s sister) Jess! I am a school teacher and Jess incorporated this as a theme for her MC duties, including ‘school rules’ for the evening, a principals address to welcome everyone and sharing cheeky details about our bridal parties high school days upon their entrance. The guests were in stiches laughing and captivated before we even arrived!
Walking down the aisle– “One that I Want” by Xavier Dunn. An acoustic version of the Grease movie hit, my all time favourite musical!
Signing the paperwork – “Here Comes the Sun” by The Beatles. Ben’s favourite band!
End of the Ceremony -“You’re my Best Friend” by Queen. My favourite band!
Entering Reception – “Don’t Stop Me Now” by Queen.
First Dance– “Drift Away” by Dobie Gray. We were in Hawaii on our first holiday together and an acoustic singer started to play this song. We sang along together, commenting on how much we loved the song and instantly knew it was now ‘our song’.
Bouquet toss– “Love Story” by Taylor Swift. Fun fact, my bridesmaid who caught it, was soon engaged a few months later!
Fun! We are not super serious and wanted everything to be fun and relaxed, a big party!
We didn’t choose a season, we chose a date… 4.3.21. It doesn’t get more perfect than that!
The ultimate Newcastle wedding photo, beautifully captured!
When the day arrives, you will forget all the things you thought you had to stress over, and as long as you have your best friend there to marry, nothing else matters!
Building a house!
